The Summer Program Manager has the overall responsibility of the summer guest experience through cabin life, meal times, free time and evening programs. This position leads, manages and is accountable for each section (WILD, Venture, Junior High, Senior High, Crew) including all staff and evening programs. The Director of Schools and Groups is responsible for program development, customer experience delivery and leadership of all program staff. They will lead the team that delivers all year-round program offerings, including the Leadership Studio at Muskoka Woods. read more
To provide quality food service to staff and guests through: overseeing the day-to-day cooking operations while complying with all Health and Safety standards, proper food-handling techniques and Muskoka Woods standards; providing leadership and direction to kitchen personnel; maintaining a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen. read more
The primary role of the Staff Coach is to work alongside the Human Resources team to care for and minister to the staff individually and as a staff community. The Staff Coach is responsible to coordinate and execute staff experiences for personal, spiritual and social development. Activities include planning and organizing our weekly staff service (Cadence) including booking speakers and worship teams, leading a weekly Going Deeper bible study, speaking at Cadence and Staff Weeks, planning small groups and questions, matching one to one mentoring relationships amongst staff as well as spearheading social activities. The Staff Coach CORE also sit on the larger CORE team that champions our BELLS and leads community life here at Muskoka Woods. The CORE team are responsible to plan and participate in social events and community initiatives, come along side staff when needed in work and life, and are responsible to contribute to the overall training of staff in our Staff Development Weeks that are held throughout the year. CORE staff are also required to lead a staff small group and conduct One to Ones. read more
Convo Cafe and Impact are a special part of each night at Muskoka Woods for our Junior High (11 - 12 year old), Senior High (13 - 14 year old) and CREW (15 - 16 year old) guests. During this time, staff and guests share on topics including Christian values, character and personal beliefs. These sessions create a safe space for listening, laughing and learning about values and morals through Bible stories and other creative ways. We encourage young people to think in new ways. Whatever the occasion, our conversations are age appropriate and respectful of all religions and beliefs. The Convo Cafe/Impact Guest Communicator's primary responsibility will be to deliver content at daily Conversation Cafe (Exploring Life and Diving Deeper) sessions as well as speak at Impact once throughout the summer (large group multi-media experience). Guest Communiators are also required to assist in Super Saturday and drive for hospital runs and are assigned 6 to 8 One 2 One's. read more
The Exceptionality Program Team is to assist, support, care for and ensure the needs of our exceptionality guests are met. Muskoka Woods has a variety of different guests and our goal is to create a safe, fun and confidence boosting environment for all. The role of the Exceptionality Program Counsellor within this department is to provide extra support to guests in the form of checks in and/or one to one support. Exceptionality Counsellors are responsible to ensure that guests needs are met and exceeded through care, participating in activities, and assisting guests with specific needs. Depending on enrolment, staff may be re-assigned to other duties as needed in the overall camp program. read more
A CREW Counsellor’s primary responsibility within this department is the safety of our guests ages 15 - 16 years old. Counsellors also provide a caring and supportive cabin environment to learn, reflect, make new friends and of course have FUN! Counsellors stay in cabins with the guests, eat all meals with their cabin group, participate in evening programs as well as facilitate small group Convo Cafe conversations with the guests in their cabin. Each CREW Counsellor is also expected to help instruct in 1 to 2 hours of assigned Arts & Athletics activities per day. Important Note - Counsellors may be moved to other age sections throughout the summer due to customer demand. This will be determined week to week and is up to the discretion of the Manager of Summer Programs. read more
