Counsellor – Exceptionality

The Exceptionality Program Team is to assist, support, care for and ensure the needs of our exceptionality guests are met. Muskoka Woods has a variety of different guests and our goal is to create a safe, fun and confidence boosting environment for all. The role of the Exceptionality Program Counsellor within this department is to provide extra support to guests in the form of checks in and/or one to one support. Exceptionality Counsellors are responsible to ensure that guests needs are met and exceeded through care, participating in activities, and assisting guests with specific needs. Depending on enrolment, staff may be re-assigned to other duties as needed in the overall camp program. read more

Counsellor – CEO

The CEO Counsellor's primary responsibiltiy within this department is to journey alongside the guests as they walk through and experience our 4 week long CEO leadership program. Counsellors live in the CEO Lodge with the guests, eat all meals with the group and are also responsible for meeting with their guests one to one, planning and participating in evening programs, and facilitating small group Convo Cafe conversations. In this role you would spend a larger amount of time with your guests than any other counselling role at MW as you journey with the guests over the course of the program. read more

Counsellor – CREW

A CREW Counsellor’s primary responsibility within this department is the safety of our guests ages 15 - 16 years old. Counsellors also provide a caring and supportive cabin environment to learn, reflect, make new friends and of course have FUN! Counsellors stay in cabins with the guests, eat all meals with their cabin group, participate in evening programs as well as facilitate small group Convo Cafe conversations with the guests in their cabin. Counsellors are also required to instruct a skill area for 1 period per day - this is called Switch Em Up. Important Note - Counsellors may be moved to other age sections throughout the summer due to customer demand. This will be determined week to week and is up to the discretion of the Manager of Summer Programs. read more

A Venture Counsellor’s primary responsibility within this department is the safety of our guests ages 9 to 10 years old. Counsellors also provide a caring and supportive cabin environment to learn, reflect, make new friends and of course have FUN! Counsellors stay in cabins with the guests, eat all meals with their cabin group, participate in evening programs as well as facilitate small group Cabin Chat conversations with the guests in their cabin. Counsellors are also required to instruct a skill area for 1 period per day - this is called Switch Em Up. Counsellors also provide a caring and supportive cabin environment to learn, reflect, make new friends and of course have FUN! Counsellors stay in cabins with the guests, eat all meals with their cabin group, participate in evening programs as well as facilitate small group Cabin Chat conversations with the guests in their cabin. Area Head – Culinary Arts

The Area Head’s primary responsibility within this department is to create, oversee and execute activities for their assigned area(s) that are safe, fun, developmentally focused and age-appropriate. The Arts Area Head's assigned areas are as follows: Baking, Cake Decorating, and Culinary. Area Heads provide leadership to the instructors in their area(s) including training, coaching and performance review. Area Heads are responsible to assist with equipment and facilities management, guest issues, and provide great customer service. A typical day within the Arts and Athletics department is to oversee activities from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm. Daily meetings with your team as well as set up and clean up are required at the beginning and end of each day. read more

Area Head – Target Sports

The Area Head’s primary responsibility within this department is to create, oversee and execute activities for their assigned area(s) that are safe, fun, developmentally focused and age-appropriate. The Target Sports Area Head will oversee activities that include: Archery, Marksmanship and Axe Throwing. Area Heads provide leadership to the instructors in their area(s) including training, coaching and performance review. Area Heads are responsible to assist with equipment and facilities management, guest issues, and provide great customer service. A typical day within the Arts and Athletics department is to oversee activities from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm. Daily meetings with your team as well as set up and clean up are required at the beginning and end of each day. read more

Instructor Creative Arts & Crafts

The Creative Arts & Crafts Instructor’s primary responsibility within this department is to provide activity instruction while creating a safe environment for our guests to learn and develop new skills, make new friends and have fun! Instructors are responsible to implement daily lesson plans in their assigned area through energetic participation and quality, intentional instruction. A typical day for an instructor is to oversee activities from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm. The Creative Arts & Crafts Instructor will run Creative Arts for our Senior High and CREW guests, and run Arts & Crafts for our WILD, Venture, and Junior High guests. Daily team meetings and set up and clean up are required at the beginning and end of each day. Instructors will help operate the Stayover Program for guests staying multiple weeks by leading and staying in a guest cabin, running activities and will be assigned to a cleaning team. Instructors are also responsible to assist in evening programs where assigned and participate in assigned duties on Sunday Arrival. read more
