Area Head – General Sports
Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! The General Area Head's assigned areas are likely to include: Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Flag Rugby, Soccer, Skate/Skoot/Drift, Outdoor Adventure, Golf, Ball Hockey and Cricket (activities subject to change). They lead and support their team of instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. A day in the life looks like running activities from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm, with daily team meetings and setup/cleanup at the start and end of each day. Heads up: Area Heads will be responsible for helping lead and execute our weekend stayover program. This will include overseeing instructors at activities, work projects and helping to lead evening program. Area Heads will also be assigned to be a Transportation Bus Captain at least once throughout the summer. read more
Area Head – Host Instructors
Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! The Host Area Head is responsible for overseeing the Host Instructors who travel around with a group of WILD guests to a variety of activities. They ensure their staff are trained in all activity areas and can create a fun atmosphere while travelling from one activity to the next. The Host Area Head also works closely with the Program Leadership for WILD to guarantee a seamless experience for the guests. They lead and support their team of host instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. A day in the life looks like running activities from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm, with daily team meetings and setup/cleanup at the start and end of each day. Area Head – Kraken Waterslide
Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! At the Kraken, this Area Head will lead and support their team of instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, ensuring that all inspections and log sheets are completed each day, and of course providing top notch customer service. A day in the life looks like working shifts between 9am and 7pm overseeing the Kraken Waterslide, with daily team meetings and setup/cleanup at the start and end of each day. Area Head – Laser Tag
Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! The Laser Tag Area Head is responsible for the Laser Tag area including our ""Lunch time Laser Tag pass"" add on. They lead and support their team of instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. A day in life looks like running activities from 9am to 12pm, scheduling or running the laser tag pass program from 12:00 to 1:30pm, and activities from 2pm to 5pm. Area Head – Paintball
Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! They lead and support their team of instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. The Paintball Area Head oversees our paintball activity and staff. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. Area Head – Pump Track
Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! The Park Area Head's assigned area is the pump track, which includes scooters, skateboards, and BMX bikes. They lead and support their team of instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. A day in the life looks like running activities from 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm, with daily team meetings and setup/cleanup at the start and end of each day. Area Heads are in charge of overseeing the activities in their area, making sure it is safe, fun, and a space where guests can develop their skills! The Racket Sports Area Head's assigned areas are as follows: Tennis, Pickleball, and Badminton. They lead and support their team of instructors, handling training, coaching, and providing feedback. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. They are responsible for managing all equipment for their area, writing and updating lesson plans, dealing with guest issues, and of course providing top notch customer service. Area Head – Timbergrove Lodge
The Timbergrove Lodge Area Head plays a key role in bringing the mission of the Muskoka Woods Youth Foundation to life - ensuring that every guest, regardless of background, experiences the joy and transformation of summer camp. The Area Head leads a team of hosts to create a welcoming and organized environment for our partner groups. They serve as the main point of contact, managing logistics, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring an exceptional experience from arrival to departure. They are responsible for staff training and coaching, leading activities and evening programs, managing health forms and police checks, gathering stories from guests, and maintaining high standards of safety, hospitality, and guest care. A day in the life looks like connecting with groups and hosts throughout the day to ensure everyone is having a great time, ensuring all activities are planned and organized, and wrapping up with the group at the end of the day to celebrate wins and prepare for tomorrow. The Timbergrove Lodge Area Head role is unique within the Athletics Department. While the overall workload is equivalent to an Area Head, the schedule is more flexible and often includes evenings to align with group programming and guest needs.
