Job Description
The Hospitality team is all about providing excellent customer service so everyone - guests, staff, and visitors - feels taken care of. Staff provide top-notch service and keep things running smoothly by spotting the little details, jumping in when needed, and creating a clean and welcoming environment.
The role of Kitchen Service Supervisor is to support the Dining Hall Manager with everything from leading our kitchen crew to ensuring our guests have a great dining experience. They are in charge of creating a fun and efficient work environment, keeping things lively and productive for our young staff, and making sure both our kitchen and dining areas are spotless.
Supervisors work alongside their staff participating in tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, taking out the trash, wiping surfaces, sanitizing stations, and washing dishes. Don’t worry—the aprons are on us! They provide support for their team of kitchen staff and are responsible for evaluations.
Shifts will vary throughout the week with some early mornings and late evenings (example: Breakfast/Lunch (6:00am – 2:30pm), Lunch/Dinner (11:00am – 7:30pm), or Breakfast/Dinner (6:00am – 10:30am & 4:00pm – 7:30pm).
All leadership staff contribute to alternate duties on guest arrival and departure days as well as the weekend stayover program.
Leadership staff may be required to act as a "Staff Dorm Parent" within their accommodations. Expectations include: establishing and maintaining a healthy cabin culture, supporting and upholding all Muskoka Woods policies as well as directly addressing any conflicts that arise within the accommodations to the best of their ability.
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.
Skills and Attributes Required
Muskoka Woods is looking for staff whose personal values match the MW Core Values which includes having a passion for working with children and youth.
Kitchen Leadership applicants must have leadership experience, a customer service mindset, be attentive to detail, take initiative, and a strong work ethic. Applicants must also have the desire to work with young staff and to create a positive, encouraging and fun atmosphere. Experience working in a kitchen/food production environment is preferred but not required.
Salary Range
$250 – $280 per week plus room and board.
Full Summer Bonus
Each leadership employee who commits their entire summer (with some exceptions for Classic) will qualify for a $400 bonus to be given at the end of the summer.
Contract Dates
June 1 - August 29, 2025
Essential Functions
- Have the physical strength and ability to lift and move small and large objects (ie. vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, boxes, and inventory)
- Work efficiently for 7-9 hours at a time
- Participate in work projects that involve lifting and carrying 10-30 lbs
- Be able to stoop, bend, and crouch
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and guests

- Please note: All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
- Please note: All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
- Please note: All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
