The Support Department at Muskoka Woods encompasses a variety of different positions that support the ministry and care of our staff and guests as well as contributing to the overall success of our excellent customer service standards.
The Exceptionality Program Team is to assist, support, care for and ensure the needs of our exceptionality guests are met. Muskoka Woods has a variety of different guests and our goal is to create a safe, fun and confidence boosting environment for all. The role of the Exceptionality Program Counsellor within this department is to provide extra support to guests in the form of checks in and/or one to one support. Exceptionality Counsellors are responsible to ensure that guests needs are met and exceeded through care, participating in activities, and assisting guests with specific needs. Depending on enrolment, staff may be re-assigned to other duties as needed in the overall camp program.
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.
Staff are required to abide by all COVID-19 standard operating procedures including enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols within their department, in assigned areas outside of their department, and in all community living/gathering spaces.
Skills and Attributes Required

Exceptionality Program staff must be supportive, patient, creative problem solvers, have a heart to serve others, and have a love for those who need extra support. Experience and/or education within the Exceptionalities field is preferred.
$120 – $150 per week plus room and board
June 25th - September 3rd, 2021
Essential Functions Required
- Be able to assist guests and staff in an emergency
- Possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of guests and/or staff
- Possess the ability to work for 7 to 9 hours at a time
- Ability to participate in work projects – lifting and carrying between 10 – 30 lbs
- Have the ability to accompany guests across camp
- Have the ability to verbally communicate well with staff and guests

** Please note: All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
