Job Description
The Program team is all about making sure our guests are thriving throughout the entire week at camp! Program is in charge of supervising guests in their cabins, at meal times, during free time and at evening programs.
The Assistant to Summer Director and Program Manager plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly around camp, supporting in all administrative tasks and projects outlined by the Camp Director and Program Manager. Tasks include but are not limited to: Coordinating the Director’s schedule and meetings, managing Emergency Procedure assignments, overseeing the Night Watch schedule and the Security Team, organizing the mealtime system for guests and staff, facilitating staff announcements, T-shirt distribution, Survival packs, postcards, and rentals.
They support the Program team by hosting weekly team meetings, helping out with evening programs, and stepping in when the Program Manager is off. Plus, they greet visitors and help organize special events and other fun camp projects.
Summer Directors are regularly assigned to the Shutdown schedule and the Dining Room Maitre'd schedule.
Leadership staff also contribute to the overall ministry to staff and are required to lead a staff small group and participate in our One to One staff mentoring program.
All leadership staff contribute to alternate duties on guest arrival and departure days as well as the weekend stayover program.
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.

The Assistant to the Summer Director and Program Manager must have strong administrative skills including planning and organizing, time management, be attentive to details and have strong communication skills both oral and written. We are looking for an energetic leader who has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to take initiative and work in high-stress situations. Previous administrative experience, working with youth, running programs and working at summer camps is required.
Salary Range
$300 - $330 per week plus room and board
Full Summer Bonus
Each director who commits their entire summer will qualify for a $500 bonus to be given at the end of the summer.
Contract Dates
May 5 - August 30, 2025
Essential Functions
- Be able to help guests and staff in emergencies
- Have the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of guests and/or staff
- Have the ability to travel around camp with guests
- Join in on activities for 6 to 8 hours a day
- Lead both small and large group activities
- Communicate clearly and effectively with staff and guests

- Please note: All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
- Please note: All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
- Please note: All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
