Job Purpose
The Assistant Camp Store Manager helps lead the day-to-day operations of the Muskoka Woods Camp Store, supporting exceptional guest service, maximizing revenue in high-margin areas (such as coffee and ice cream), and ensuring smooth operational flow. This role provides leadership on the floor, oversees seasonal team members, and supports reporting, merchandising, and product development efforts.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Provide consistent till coverage during peak service times
- Lead daily operations in high-margin areas (coffee and ice cream), focusing on speed, quality, and upselling.
- Assist in the daily ordering of items (food, drinks, paper products, admin items) and seasonal ordering of merchandise (apparel, accessories, branded items)
- Organize and schedule merchandise pick ups and deliveries within Ontario
- Train, schedule, and manage seasonal store staff to ensure excellent service and accountability.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming guest environment.
- Support sales reporting, inventory tracking, and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Contribute to merchandising execution and seasonal product displays.
- Participate in product selection and development based on trends, customer feedback, and margin potential.
- Act as store lead in the absence of the Camp Store Manager.
- Support the Camp Store Manager with special projects and initiatives as needed.

Experience Required
- Post-secondary education in business, retail management, hospitality, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in retail, hospitality, or food service.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or training team members.
- Proficiency with POS systems; basic comfort with reporting tools is an asset.
- Creative and detail-oriented approach to merchandising and product presentation.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and seasonal extended hours
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive in Ontario is required.
Essential Functions
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, move quickly in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., restocking supplies, lifting product boxes).
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating barista equipment, scooping ice cream, and handling food safely.
- Ability to walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift.
- Ability to sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal, with guests and staff.
Salary Range
$37,500 – $42,000/year
