Job Description
The Hospitality team is all about providing excellent customer service so everyone - guests, staff, and visitors - feels taken care of. Staff provide top-notch service and keep things running smoothly by spotting the little details, jumping in when needed, and creating a clean and welcoming environment.
The Prep/Line Cooks work alongside the full-time kitchen staff to prepare delicious meals for staff and guests, including the yogurt and salad buffets. Tasks include but are not limited to: receiving inventory, chopping vegetables, panning food, slicing lunch meat, wrapping sandwiches, deep frying, grilling and BBQ’ing. Cooks contribute to a spotless kitchen by sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and saniziting workstations and food prep areas.
Shifts can vary throughout the week: Breakfast/Lunch from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Lunch/Dinner from 11:00am to 7:30pm, or a mix of Breakfast/Dinner from 6:00am to 10:30am and 4:00pm to 7:30pm.
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.
Skills and Attributes Required
Muskoka Woods is looking for staff whose personal values match the MW Core Values which includes having a passion for working with children and youth.
Kitchen staff must have a strong work ethic, have a customer service mindset, be a team player, have a positive attitude, be willing to work early morning shifts, and perform manual labour (unloading inventory, cleaning, mopping). Previous experience required.
Salary Range
Minimum wage.
Room and board may be available depending on needs. Salary will be adjusted accordingly for R&B if required.

May 1 – September 4, 2026
Essential Functions
- Have the physical strength and ability to lift and move small and large objects (ie. vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, boxes, and inventory)
- Work efficiently for 7-9 hours at a time
- Participate in work projects that involve lifting and carrying 10-30 lbs
- Be able to stoop, bend, and crouch
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and guests
Additional Notes
- All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
- All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
- All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
