Muskoka Woods is a Christian youth development organization that welcomes everyone to an experience for a lifetime. We are located on the shores of beautiful Lake Rosseau and specialize in summer camp, school trips, group retreats and leadership development for all ages. We exist to inspire youth to shape their world.
Job Description
From September to June, the Schools & Groups program and the Leadership Studio provide life-changing experiences for youth and adults. All year long, Muskoka Woods hosts over 25,000 students from grades 6 to 12, along with corporate groups and church retreats.
Studio Hosts support our full-time Leadership Studio team in running activities and programs for our guests. They create and maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere in the Studio, making sure everyone feels welcome. They provide excellent service to all guests to ensure they have an amazing experience. Studio Hosts will help out with hospitality duties including food service, cleaning, dishwashing, and managing firewood. Note: All positions require flexibility, so you may also pitch in with program activities, kitchen help, housekeeping, groundskeeping, snow removal, and office coverage as needed. Plus, attending all meetings during staff training, including Cadence and Small Group, is a must.

Leadership Studio applicants must have strong skills in customer service, time management, conflict resolution, and communication both oral and written. Studio applicants must have a strong work ethic, be able to see details and take initiative as well as be willing to serve wherever needed including cleaning, serving and manual labour. Applicants must have an interest in leadership development and facilitation as well as be able to work with both adult and youth groups.
Salary
$220.00 per week plus room and board
Contract Dates
April 22 2025 - June 15 2025 Start date is flexible based on exam schedules.
Additional Notes
- Please note: All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
- Please note: All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
- Please note: All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
Essential Functions Required
- Be able to help guests and staff in emergencies
- Have the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of guests and/or staff
- Have the ability to travel around camp with guests
- Join in on activities for 6 - 8 hours a day
- Lead both small and large group activities
- Communicate clearly and effectively with staff and guests both in person and on the phone
- Participate in work projects that involve lifting and carrying 10 - 30 lbs
