Muskoka Woods is a Christian youth development organization that welcomes everyone to an experience for a lifetime. We are located on the shores of beautiful Lake Rosseau and specialize in summer camp, school trips, group retreats and leadership development for all ages. We exist to inspire youth to shape their world.
Job Description
From September to June, the Schools & Groups program and the Leadership Studio provide life-changing experiences for youth and adults. All year long, Muskoka Woods hosts over 25,000 students from grades 6 to 12, along with corporate groups and church retreats.
The Prep Cook works alongside the Cooks to prepare delicious meals for staff and guests, including the yogurt and salad buffets. Tasks include but are not limited to: receiving inventory, chopping vegetables, panning food, slicing lunch meat, wrapping sandwiches, deep frying, grilling and BBQ’ing. Prep Cooks contribute to a spotless kitchen by sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and saniziting workstations and food prep areas. Shifts will vary throughout the week, typically ranging from early morning to evening (like 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.
**Please note: All positions are required to work in other areas including program, washing dishes, housekeeping, grounds keeping and snow removal, and office coverage.

Salary
$250.00 per week plus room and board
Contract Dates
April 22 2025 - June 15 2025 Start date is flexible based on exam schedules.
Essential Functions
- Have physical strength and ability to lift and move small and large objects (ie. vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, boxes, and inventory)
- Work efficiently for 7 - 9 hours at a time
- Handle work projects that involve lifting and carrying 10 - 30 lbs
- Be able to stoop, bend and crouch
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and guests.

- Please note: All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
- Please note: All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
- Please note: All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
